Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do I need to know which
wineries we're going to in order to make a reservation?
A. No. Make your reservation
as soon as possible to ensure availability. We can always
change your itinerary.
Q. Is there a deposit required to
make a reservation? Will my credit card be charged?
A. A 50% deposit is required to
make a reservation. After we've reviewed your online
reservation, we'll send a one page Reservation Agreement for your
approval. Once approved, the deposit is non-refundable and
non-transferrable in case of cancellation. The balance is due
on the date of service.
Q. Do you have availability?
A. Yes! However, your credit card will not be charged in
the unlikely event we are unable to accept your reservation.
Q. Can you help us choose which
wineries we'll visit?
A. Yes, listed below are wineries that we've grouped by
region. Choosing your wineries from one region will help help
to ensure timely transfers between wineries. This is simply for
guidance, and you may decide to visit wineries from different
regions. However, our in house experts really love and
recommend Breaux and Sunset Hills :)
Q. Are there tasting fees?
Are they included in your packages?
A. Each winery has its own tasting
fees. Virginia ABC laws require tasting fees to be collected
directly from each winery. Generally tasting fees are between
$5 and $10 per person depending on the tasting purchased.
Q. Can we bring our own alcoholic
beverages in the vehicle?
A. Yes. All guests age 21 or over may bring and enjoy
their own beverages. If you are planning a picnic at a winery,
it is recommended that you enjoy only wine from the winery you are
visiting while enjoying your picnic at their location. Each
winery has wine available (and chilled if appropriate) for immediate
purchase and consumption.
Q. Can we bring food?
A. Yes. However, we highly recommend not eating in the
vehicle. Even with the best intentions, food (even light
snacks) can end up
everywhere when the vehicle is in motion. Since an additional
cleanup fee may apply it's best to enjoy your food outside of the
vehicle. Most wineries have
outdoor picnic locations for your enjoyment. Many wineries
have indoor facilities for enjoying your food and wine.
If the weather is inclement, you might want to hold your picnic
inside at Sunset Hills Winery's beautifully renovated 130 year old
barn.
Q. What do we do if its raining?
A. We'll provide service rain or
shine. During warm weather months, many wineries may feature
outdoor tastings (e.g. Chrysalis Vineyard) that may be moved
indoors. Each winery has the capability to provide indoor wine
tastings during inclement weather. Most wineries are even open
throughout the winter months!
Q. Do I need to contact the
wineries?
A. We highly recommend contacting
the wineries you are planning to visit especially for larger groups
(6+ tasters). You'll find that the wine tour goes much
smoother if they are prepared to accommodate your large party.
Many wineries do require reservations.
Q. I've never planned or been on a
wine tour. Do you have any pointers?
A. Relax and enjoy! On your wine tour, you'll find
(most) of the wineries are completely relaxed environments and
willing to answer any questions you may have! If this is your
first wine tour, the best recommendation is to let the winery host
know and he or she will be more than accommodating.
We love wine tours. We are now in
our 10th year of providing wine tour transportation. We've
been providing Virginia Wine Tour transportation service before many
of our Virginia wineries began growing grapes! We hope you
have a wonderful day in the beautiful Virginia wine country
regardless of the transportation provider you choose. We do
however hope that you'll choose Fairfax Limo for your next wine
tour, and we would look forward to providing you with outstanding
service.
